Music therapy is an evidence-based healthcare profession that uses music interventions to help individuals achieve therapeutic goals related to physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and communication needs. Music therapy is provided by a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) who has completed specialized education and clinical training. In Ohio, this is delivered by a MT-BC who is also a Licensed Professional Music Therapist (LPMT).
