Music therapy services may be billable/reimbursable in some instances. With the additional of licensure for music therapists in Ohio, some barriers to billing and reimbursement have been removed, however many still remain. We are committed to working with families, agencies and funding sources to make music therapy more accessible for all.

Ohio County Boards for Developmental Disabilities

• SELF Waiver

Ohio Department of Education 

(currently delivered through partnership with Pivot Speech Therapy in SE Ohio and Columbus Tutoring in Central Ohio)

• Autism Scholarship

• Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship

Ohio Mental Health & Case Management Agencies

• OhioRISE (currently short term services only via flex funds)

• Therapeutic Behavioral Support (currently delivered through Ohio Medicaid subcontract with Hopewell Health Centers)

Private Medical Insurance

• Case by case basis- typically successful when billed out of network with a met deductible/reached out of pocket max or a short series of session with a copay.

Agency Funding

• Funds built into an agency's budget

• Grant funding from local, county, state, regional, and national levels (through a nonprofit or via partnership with a nonprofit).​
